Breast Lift

The goal of breast lift surgery is to restore the shape and firmness of the breasts by removing sagging tissue and repositioning the nipples and surrounding tissue to improve the overall appearance of the breasts. Patients who have nipples that sit below the breast fold or point downwards, have breasts that are asymmetric, and/or breasts that sag or feel droopy will benefit from a breast lift surgery.

Types of breast lift techniques:

  • A crescent lift: an incision made on the top of the areola to move the nipples up 1-2cm.
  • A circum-areolar or “donut” lift: an incision made around the entire areola.
  • A vertical or “lollipop” lift: an incision is made around the nipple, down the breast.
  • An inverted T lift or “anchor” lift: an incision is made around the nipple, down the breast, and around the base of the whole breast. This lift addresses the most severe ptosis (sagging).

It is not uncommon that a patient will need a lift at the same time as their breast augmentation surgery to optimize their result. During your consultation, our surgeons will address your concerns, and determine which breast lift technique will provide you with your ideal results.

At Aesthetica Plastic Surgery, our surgeons bring a combined 28 years of experience and have performed thousands of breast lift procedures. Breast lift surgery requires precision and expertise to elevate the breast tissue and reposition the nipples while preserving nerve function and minimizing scarring. Our Plastic Surgeons refined surgical technique and artistic eye offer patients confidence in achieving a more youthful, natural-looking result—delivered with a focus on both safety and aesthetics.

Journey To Confidence

At your consultation, you will be able to discuss questions and voice what you would like changed through surgery. Your Surgeons will discuss the details of the procedure and create a surgical plan with you. Our office staff will provide you with a surgery quote and work with you to schedule a surgery date.

You will have a pre-operative appointment three weeks prior to surgery. At this appointment, you will sign consents, discuss any last minute questions and concerns, and get further pre- and post-surgery instructions.

Your surgery will take place at an accredited facility. This is generally a 3 hour procedure and you will be released home on the same day.

Generally, you will be seen 1 to 3 days after surgery and again 4 to 5 days later. Further post operative appointments will continue and be dependent upon your recovery.

Recovery for breast lift procedure is 2 weeks of no lifting or exercising. Patients typically feel good enough to go back to work at around 4-5 days after their surgery. At Aesthetica, post operative care and safety is our number one priority. Patients are seen frequently after their procedure to assure healing and recovery is on track. Patients also have 24 hour access to a nurse on call for emergencies.

Experience the results, see the transformation, and enjoy renewed confidence. A breast lift can restore a naturally lifted, youthful appearance—helping you feel more confident in your body.

Is breast lift surgery covered by insurance?

Breast lifts are generally not covered by insurance and are considered a cosmetic procedure.  Insurance may cover breast reconstruction in cases of malignancy.

Is breast lift part of a mommy makeover?

Breast lift may or may not be part of a mommy makeover. This is determined at the patient’s consultation based on their surgical goals and needs.

How much does a breast lift cost?

Breast lift surgery depends on the amount of breast ptosis (sagging) and amount of breast tissue a patient has. Typical ranges are between $10,000-$14,000. This price includes expenses for the operating room, anesthesia, and our surgeon fees. You will receive a quote for the exact cost of your breast lift surgery after your consultation.

How many sizes can you lose with a breast lift?

The amount of tissue removed during surgery varies from patient to patient. Some may experience only a minimal reduction, while others may opt for a more significant decrease in size. This depends on factors such as the degree of breast ptosis, the amount of existing breast tissue, and the patient’s desired outcome. Your surgeon will work closely with you to determine a breast size that aligns with your goals and ensures a natural result.

What is recovery like for breast lifts?

For the first two weeks following the procedure, patients will need to refrain from lifting anything over 5 pounds as well as avoid strenuous activity.

How soon can you see results?

Initial results are visible immediately following the procedure; however, the final outcome becomes more apparent as swelling and bruising gradually subside. Over time, incision lines will continue to fade and become less noticeable.

Who is a candidate for a breast lift?

Patients whose breast tissue and/or nipples are positioned at or below the inframammary fold.

Can a breast augmentation replace a breast lift?

Breast augmentation will enlarge and enhance the breasts, but it will not replace the need for a lift. In cases of very mild ptosis, there are times an implant will fill up the tissue enough to avoid a lift.
